Question 157

In an examination it is required to get 380 of the aggregate marks to pass. A student gets 32% of marks and is declared failed by 76 marks. What are the maximum aggregate marks a student can get ?

Solution

Let the max marks in the exam = $$100x$$

Passing marks = 380

Now, acc to ques,

=> $$(\frac{32}{100} * 100x) + 76 = 380$$

=> $$32x = 380 - 76$$

=> $$x = \frac{304}{32} = 9.5$$

$$\therefore$$ Max marks = 100 * 9.5 = 950
