Question 152

Samir’s age is one-fourth of his father’s age and two-third of his sister Reema’s age. What is the ratio of the ages of Samir, Reema and their father respectively?

Solution

Let Samir's father's age = $$x$$ years

=> Samir's age = $$\frac{x}{4}$$ years

=> Reema's age = $$\frac{3}{2} \times \frac{x}{4}$$

= $$\frac{3x}{8}$$ years

$$\therefore$$ Ratio of Samir , Reema and their father's age

= $$\frac{x}{4} : \frac{3x}{8} : x$$

= 2 : 3 : 8
