The Central Government granted a certain sum towards flood relief to 3 states A, B, and C in the ratio 2:3:4. If C gets Rs. 400 Crores more than A, what is the share of B?

Solution

Let the ratio of sum towards flood to 3 states A, B and C be 2x, 3x and 4x

C gets Rs. 400 Crores more than A

According to the question,

2x + 400 = 4x

2x = 400

x = 400/2 = 200

Share of B = 3x = $$3\times\ 200$$ = Rs. 600
