What is the average number of men living in all the societies together in the year 2005?
Solution
Number of men in 2005 in society :
A = $$\frac{60}{100} \times 250$$ = 150
B = $$\frac{45}{100} \times 320$$ = 144
C = $$\frac{45}{100} \times 280$$ = 126
D = $$\frac{40}{100} \times 210$$ = 84
E = $$\frac{55}{100} \times 220$$ = 121
=> Total = 150 + 144 + 126 + 84 + 121 = 625
$$\therefore$$ Required average = $$\frac{625}{5}$$ = 125
