Question 140

What is the total number of candidates qualified from state ‘E’ and ‘D’ together ?

Solution

Number of candidates appearing from E = .12 * 3,00,000 = 36,000

Number of candidates appearing from D = .23 * 3,00,000 = 69,000

Number of candidates qualified from E = 36,000 * .65 = 23,400

Number of candidates qualified from D = 69,000 * .45 = 31,050

Total = 23,400 + 31,050 = 54,450
