Question 138

Which of the following pair of states have equal number of qualified male candidates ?

Solution

Number of candidates appearing from G = .07 * 3,00,000 = 21,000

Number of candidates qualified from G = 21,000 * .48 = 10,080

Number of men in qualified candidates = 10,080 * 9/20 = 4536

Number of candidates appearing from C = .06 * 3,00,000 = 18,000

Number of candidates qualified from C = 18,000 * .54= 9,720

Number of men in qualified candidates = 9,720 *7/15 = 4536

So, G and C have the same number of qualified male candidates.
