Question 138

Meera had a certain amount, she gave 15% of that amount to Anish, 32% to Rubina and 25% to Sana. 3/4 th of the remaining amount is 8,400.How much did she give Anish?

Solution

Let the total amount with Meera be Rs y

After giving 15% to Anish, 32% to Rubina and 25% to Sana, Meera is left with only 28% of the amount with her.

It is given that 3/4th of this amount is equal to 8400

So,

$$\frac{3}{4}\times\frac{28}{100}\times{y} = 8400$$

y = Rs 40,000

As the total amount with Meera is Rs 40,000 . 15% of y which is given to Anish will amount to $$\frac{15}{100}\times{40000} = 6000$$

Hence option A is correct
