Question 128

A and B started a business together by investing Rs. 10,400 and Rs. 14,300 respectively. After 4 months C joined them with an amount of Rs. 9,100. If they earned an annual profit of ZRs.11,360. What is C’s share of profit?

Solution

Ratio of profits =

=> $$A : B : C = (10,400 \times 12) : (14,300 \times 12) : (9,100 \times 8)$$

= $$(104 \times 3) : (143 \times 3) : (91 \times 2)$$

= $$312 : 429 : 182 = 24 : 33 : 14$$

Annual profit = Rs. 11,360

$$\therefore$$ Share of C in the profit = $$\frac{14}{24 + 33 + 14} \times 11,360$$

= $$14 \times 160$$ = Rs. $$2,240$$
