I. $$x^{2} = 10 $$
if $$y^{2} - 9y+ 20=0 $$

Solution

I. $$x^2 = 10$$

=> $$x = \pm \sqrt{10}$$

II. $$y^{2} - 9y + 20 = 0$$

=> $$y^2 - 4y - 5y + 20 = 0$$

=> $$y (y - 4) - 5 (y - 4) = 0$$

=> $$(y - 5) (y - 4) = 0$$

=> $$y = 4 , 5$$

$$\therefore x < y$$
