Solution

Let the number to replace the question mark be equal to X.

So, 55% of 860+X% of 450=581
Or, X% of 450 = 581 - 0.55 * 860 = 581 - 473 = 108
So, X = 108 * 100 / 450 = 24

Hence, the correct answer is option (a)
