Solution

The series follows the following pattern:

9 * 0.5 + 0.5 = 5

5*1 + 1 = 6

6 * 1.5 + 1.5 = 10.5

10.5 * 2 + 2 = 23

23 * 2.5 + 2.5 = 60

60 * 3 + 3 = 183

Hence, 61 is the incorrect number.
