Question 114

What is the percentage of qualified candidates to that of appeared candidates from States B and C taken together? (rounded to two decimal places).

Solution

Number of qualified candidates from States B and C taken together

= $$\frac{16 + 7}{100} \times 9000 = 23 \times 90$$

= $$2070$$

Number of appeared candidates from States B and C taken together

= $$\frac{11 + 8}{100} \times 45000 = 19 \times 450$$

= $$8550$$

$$\therefore$$ Required % = $$\frac{2070}{8550} \times 100$$

= $$\frac{23}{19} \times 20 = 24.21 \%$$
