Question 113

Which bag amongst P, Q, R, S and T is the heaviest?
I. Bag Q is heavier than R and S. Bag T is the heavier only than bag P.
II. Only three bags are lighter than R. The weight of bag Q is 50 kg which is 2 kg more than bag R.

Solution

I : T is heavier than only P. => T is the 4th heaviest bag and P is the least.

Of, the remaining three, it is given that, Q is heavier than both. Thus, Q is the heaviest bag.

Q > R, S > T > P

Thus, I alone is sufficient.

II : Only three bags are lighter than R. => R is the second heaviest bag.

It is also given that Q is heavier than R, thus, Q is the heaviest bag.

Q > R > S, T, P

Thus, II alone is sufficient.
