Length of a minute hand of a clock is 14 cms. Area swept by the minute hand in 5 minutes is:
Angle made by the minute hand in 60 minutes = 360$$^\circ$$
Then, Angle made by the minute hand in 5 minutes = $$\dfrac{5\times360}{60} = 30^\circ$$
Area covered by the minute hand in 5 minutes = $$\dfrac{\theta}{360}\times\pi r^2$$ where r = length of the hand and $$\theta$$ is the angle covered.
Area = $$\dfrac{30}{360}\times\dfrac{22}{7}\times14\times14 = \dfrac{154}{3} sq.cm$$
