Question 104

Number obtained by interchanging the digits of a two digit number is less than the original number by 18, and the sum of the digit is 6 what is the original two-digit number ?

Solution

Let the original number be 10x + y

10y + x + 18 = 10x + y

x + y = 6

Solving for x and y, we get x = 4 and y = 2

So, the original number = 42
