The cost of 24 pens and 13 pencils is Rs.175. What is the cost of 48 pens and 26 pencils?
Solution
Let the cost of 1 pen be x and cost of one pencil be y.
Now 24x+13y=175
We, have to find the cost of 48 pens and pencils which can be obtained by multiplying th eabove equations on both sides by 2.
i.e 48x + 26y = 350
Hence, the cost of 48 pens and 26 pencils is Rs. 350.
