Question 35

A cashier has ₹ 620 in the denominations of two-rupee notes, ten-rupee notes and fifty-rupee notes. The number of notes of each denomination is equal. What is the total number of notes that he/she has ?

The number of notes of each denomination is equal. Let it be 'a'. Therefore -

$$2a+10a+50a=620$$

$$62a=620$$

$$a=10$$

Thus, the total number of notes that he/she has $$=3a=30$$.
