Question 14

If points (t, 2t), (-2, 6) and (3,1) are collinear, then t is equal to

As given three points are collinear : Slope between any two points on the line should remain same.
         (t, 2t), (-2, 6) and (3,1)

So, Slope = $$\dfrac{\ 6-1}{-2-3}\ =\left\{-1\right\}$$

Slope = $$\dfrac{\ 2t-1}{t-3}$$ = -1

2t - 1 = 3 - t

Therefore, t = $$\dfrac{4}{3}$$
