IIM Indore IPM RTI Data 2025
The official is finally out. The numbers paint a clear picture of the competition. The IIM Indore released this data under Reference No. IIMI/RTI/16/2025-26/4296/3575. It shows that 16,357 candidates managed to score positive marks in all three sections. However, only 818 of them made it to the Personal Interview (PI) round. This is a selection ratio of roughly 5%.
For the General category, the competition was even fiercer. A massive pool of 12,132 applicants competed for just 301 interview spots. That is a success rate of about 2.48%. The data confirms that high registration numbers do not reflect the real competition. The actual fight is among the small group of students who can clear the sectional cutoffs.
IIM Indore IPM PI Shortlist 2025
The shortlisting process for the Personal Interview was tough. A total of 818 candidates received calls. This shortlist came from the pool of 16,357 "active" applicants. An active applicant is someone who scored at least 1 mark in every section. If you scored zero or negative in any section, you were out immediately.
The General category saw the highest rejection rate. Out of 12,132 active General applicants, only 301 cleared the cutoffs. The biggest hurdle was the Verbal Ability (VA) section. The cutoff for VA was 112 marks. This is exceptionally high. It means a General candidate needed about 28 net correct answers just to survive.
The Quantitative Ability (Short Answer) section was another filter. You needed 24 marks here. Since there are no options in this section, you cannot guess. You need precise answers. General candidates needed 24 marks in QA (SA), while NC-OBC candidates needed 12.
Table 1: Active Applicants vs. Shortlisted Candidates (2025)
Category | Female Applicants | Male Applicants | Total Active Applicants | Total Shortlisted for PI |
General | 5,155 | 6,977 | 12,132 | 301 |
NC-OBC | 831 | 1,519 | 2,350 | 245 |
EWS | 287 | 614 | 901 | 75 |
SC | 273 | 444 | 717 | 113 |
ST | 51 | 119 | 170 | 51 |
PwD | 27 | 60 | 87 | 33 |
Total | 6,624 | 9,733 | 16,357 | 818 |
The sectional cutoffs dictate your survival. You can score 200 marks overall, but if you get 20 marks in QA (SA) as a General candidate, you fail. The table below shows the exact floor for each section. Notice the gap between General and EWS in the Verbal section. It is a 25-mark difference.
Table 2: Minimum Cut-off Marks in Each Section (2025)
Category | QA (SA) Cutoff | QA (MCQ) Cutoff | VA Cutoff |

NC-OBC | 12 | 15 | 78 |

IPMAT Score for IIM Indore IPM PI Shortlist 2025
The minimum Aptitude Test Score (ATS) required for a General category interview call was 41.55555. This ATS is not your raw score. IIM Indore calculates it using a specific normalisation formula. This score carries 65% weightage in your final selection. The remaining 35% comes from the interview.
The data reveals a massive range in scores. In the General category, the last person to get a call had an ATS of 41.55. But the topper had an ATS of 89.24. This is a gap of nearly 48 points. This gap matters. The candidate with 41.55 starts the interview round with a huge disadvantage. They need a near-perfect interview to catch up.
For the ST category, the minimum ATS was just 2.30. This is interesting. It implies that almost everyone who cleared the sectional cutoffs in the ST category got an interview call. The aggregate score did not act as a filter for them. The filter was purely sectional.
The NC-OBC cutoff was 19.83. This is less than half of the General cutoff. It shows that the density of high-scoring candidates drops sharply outside the General category. If you are an NC-OBC candidate, clearing the sectional cutoffs gives you a very high chance of getting shortlisted.
Table 3: Aptitude Test Score (ATS) Statistics for PI Shortlist
Category | Count | Minimum ATS (Cutoff) | Maximum ATS |
General | 301 | 41.55555 | 89.24216 |

IPMAT Score for IIM Indore IPM Final Offer 2025
The lowest Composite Score (CS) to get a final General category offer was 60.39564. This is the "magic number" for admission. This score combines your ATS and your Interview score.
Let's look at the math. If you had the minimum General ATS of 41.55, your component score for ATS would be roughly 27 (since ATS is 65% weighted). To reach a CS of 60.39, you would need over 33 points from the interview. Since the interview weightage is 35, you would need a PI score of roughly 95%. That is extremely difficult.
The "safe" zone for General candidates is an ATS of around 50 or higher.
The NC-OBC final cutoff was 41.01. This is significantly lower. An NC-OBC candidate with a decent ATS could convert the call with an average interview.
The EWS category had a final cutoff of 45.49. This is higher than NC-OBC. EWS is becoming more competitive every year. You cannot rely on low scores in EWS anymore.
Table 4: Composite Score (CS) for Final Admission Offers

IIM Indore IPM Waitlist Movement 2025
A total of 176 offers were made to fill 151 seats. This implies a very tight waitlist movement. The institute does not send out offers recklessly. They are conservative.
For the General category, 69 offers were made. The final number of admitted students was 58. This means only 11 candidates declined the offer. The movement was 11.
For NC-OBC, 45 offers were made for 40 seats. The movement was just 5. This shows that students value the IIM Indore brand highly. They do not leave it easily.
The RTI also revealed some other critical data points.
Program Exit Data:
The "Exit Option" allows students to leave after 3 years with a B.A. degree. In the Academic Year 2025-26, 60 students chose to exit. This is a large number. It is about 40% of a standard batch. Why do they leave? Many likely cracked the CAT and moved to IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, or Calcutta. Others might have taken corporate jobs.
Financial Aid:
IIM Indore provides Need-Based Financial Assistance (NBFA). In AY 2024-25, only 8 students received this aid. The total amount distributed was Rs. 12,88,828. This averages to about Rs. 1.6 lakhs per student. The low number of beneficiaries suggests strict eligibility criteria.
Table 5: Offers Made vs. Admitted Students (Yield Data)
Category | Total Offers Made | Final Admitted Students |

IIM Indore IPM RTI Data 2025: Conclusion
The IIM Indore IPM RTI Data 2025 shows that the real competition starts after clearing the sectional cutoffs. Only 5% of the active candidates got PI calls, so aspirants need to perform well in all sections, especially in Verbal Ability and QA (SA), where the cutoffs are very high for General category students.
The final admission data also shows that having a low ATS score makes it hard to convert the call, because the interview carries a lot of weight. The waitlist movement was also limited, and the selection process is very strict. This RTI data is a reminder for future aspirants that doing well in each section is more important than just having a high total score.
