Question 60

Find the wrong term in the series given below: 1, 9, 33, 105, 158

The next term of the series is 2 added to the previous term, and then multiplying the number by 3.

$$9=\left(1+2\right)\times3$$

$$33=\left(9+2\right)\times3$$

$$105=\left(33+2\right)\times3$$

$$\left(105+2\right)\times3=321$$

Thus, the correct term after 105 should be 321, and therefore, 158 is the wrong term in the sequence.
