In a box, there are several balls. The pie-chart shows the percentage-wise distribution of 5 different colours of balls; and total number of balls = 1000. Also, the ratio of the light and dark shades of the six colours of balls is given.
Solution
Number of Pink balls = 12% of 1000 = 120
Ratio of light to dark pink balls = 1:7
Number of dark pink balls = (7/8) * 120 = 105
Number of Green balls = 18% of 1000 = 180
Ratio of light to dark green = 1:3
Number of dark green balls = (3/4) * 180 = 135
Ratio = 105:135 = 7:9
