Question 47

Two cars A and B start running from the opposite ends X and Y of a national highway with a length of 120 Km. Car A starts from end X and runs 30 Km straight. It then takes a right turn and runs 15 Km, then turns left and runs for 30 Km. Thereafter, the car turns towards the highway and reaches back on the highway. In the meantime, the car B has also started running from the other end Y of the highway, but due to a minor breakdown could run only for 35 Km along the highway till the time the car A has reached back on the highway. What is the distance between two cars at this point?

Highway length = 120 km

Car A: Moves 30 km on the highway, then 15 km right (off-road), 30 km left (parallel), then returns to the highway.

So, a total of 60 km from point X

Car B: Moves 35 km from point Y, which means 120 - 35 = 85 km from point X.

So, Distance between them = 85 - 60 = 25 km
