In a right-angled triangle ABC, the hypotenuse AC is of length 13 cm. A line drawn connecting the midpoints D and E of sides AB and AC is found to be 6 cm in length. The length of BC is

We can draw a figure like this,

D and E are mid points of AB and AC respectively

By, midpoint theorem we can say,

$$DE=\frac{1}{2}BC$$

So, $$BC=2\cdot DE$$

or, $$BC=2\times\ 6=12\ cm$$
