LDC has the following hierarchy.

1. Assistant/ Upper Division Clerk
2. Division Clerk
3. Section Officer

Candidates require 5 yrs of experience to get the promotion to UDC and need to clear UDC exam conducted by SSC board. After 5 yrs of experience as UDC, candidates will get promoted as Division clerk and then to Section Officer.
