Maternal is related to mother and paternal is related to father. Remember M-M.

If the question asked is â€śHow is A related to B?â€ť, then the gender of person A must be known to answer the question.

If X is an uncle/aunt of Y, then Y is the nephew of X if Y is male and niece if female.

There exists no relation like cousin-brother, cousin-sister etc.

Cousin is a term used for both male and female.

Explanation:
Amitâ€™s motherâ€™s only child is Amit. So, the boy is the son of Amit and Amitâ€™s wife is the boyâ€™s mother.

Ravi is the son of Kavya. Kavya and Ramya are sisters. Shobha is the mother of Ramya. Santosh is Shobhaâ€™s son. Which of the following statements is true?

A. Ravi and Santosh are cousins

C. Ramya is the maternal grandmother of Ravi
D. Kavya is the sister of Santosh
