Question 52

A train 120 m long crosses a platform of length 100 m in 10 seconds. What is its speed?

$$ speed = \frac{distance}{time} $$

here distance = length of train + length of platform

                        = 120 + 100 = 220 m

time t = 10 sec

$$ speed = \frac{220}{10} = 22 m/sec $$

22 m/sec = $$ 22 \times \frac{18}{5} = 79.2 km/hr $$
