A certain distance is covered at a certain speed. If half the distance is covered in double thetime, what is the ratio of the two speeds?
Solution
Let x km distance be covered in y h.
So, speed in first case = x/y km/hr
And speed in second case = (x/2)/(2*y)Â Â = x/4y km/hr
Required ratio =(x/y)/(x/4y) = (1/1)/(1/4)
= 4 : 1
