Question 35

The given table represents the marks obtained by four students W, X, Y and Z in four subjects P, C, B and M,with the maximum marks in each subject being 100.
The difference between the highest and the lowest percentage (P, C, M and B together) among the four students is:

Solution

% of w = $$\frac{70 + 90 + 50 + 85}{4} = \frac{295}{4}$$ = 73.75%

% of x = $$\frac{55 + 80+ 95 + 60}{4} = \frac{290}{4}$$ = 72.25%

% of y = $$\frac{60+ 20 + 90 + 40}{4} = \frac{210}{4}$$ = 52.25%

% of z = $$\frac{90 + 80 + 40 + 65}{4} = \frac{275}{4}$$ = 68.75%

Difference between highest and lowest = 73.75 - 52.25 = 21.25%

So , the answer would be option d)21.25%
