Question 92

The product of two numbers is 9375. The quotient, when the largest number is divided by the smallest number is 15. Find the sum of these numbers.

Solution

let the numbers be x and y and x be the larger number

given , xy=9375

$$\frac{x}{y}$$=15

$$(\frac{xy}{\frac{x}{y}})$$ = $$\frac{9375}{15}$$

$$y^{2}$$ = 625

 y = 25

from ,$$\frac{x}{y}$$=15

 x =15y

x =$${15}\times{25}$$

x = 375

sum of x and y = 375 + 25 = 400
