A Train leaves Kazipet at 5 a.m. and reaches Bangalore at 3 p.m. Another train leaves
Bangalore at 7 a.m. and reaches Kazipet at 5 p.m. When do the twotrains meet? Assume that the trains travels at equal uniform speeds.

Solution

given,

A start at 5am and stop at 3pm

B start at 7am and stop at 5pm

they both take 10hr

both speed and distance are same.

let 10 hr = 100km

then 10kmphr

A start 2 hr earlier then B

when B start then A complete his 20 km now we have only 80 km left.

so we divided 80 by 2 = 40km

now 40km = 4hr

therefore A meet to B = 2hr + 4hr =6hr.

5am + 6hr = 11am
