Two numbers in the ratio 15 : 11 have their HCF to be 13. What is their LCM?

Solution

let the two numbers be 15x and 11x

hence HCF = x = 13

two numbers are $$ 15 \times 13 = 195 $$

$$ 11 \times 13 = 143 $$

product of two numbers equal to the product of the HCF and LCM

$$ 195 \times 143 = 13 \times LCM $$

solving, LCM = $$ \frac{195 \times 143}{13} = 2145 $$
