Solution

Total duration of show =Ā 4$$ \frac{14}{15} hours = \frac{74}{15} $$

Duration of advertisement =Ā $$\frac{1}{5}th of the total time = \frac{1}{5} \times \frac{74}{15} hours =Ā  \frac {74}{75}$$

Ā Actual duration of the television show = $$ \frac {74}{15} - \frac{74}{75} = 3.94 hours$$
