Question 22

If a current of 1.5 A is maintained in a resistor of 10Ω, then the energy dissipated in the resistor in 1 minute will be:

Solution

Given-

R = 10 ohm

I = 1.5 A

t = 1 min = 60 s

Here, energy is dissipated in form of heat.

Heat energy produced is calculated by -

$$H = I^2\times R\times t$$

$$H = 1.5^2\times 10\times 60$$

$$H = 2.25\times 600$$

H = 1350 W
