Question 2

Two trains of equal lengths take 10 seconds and 15 seconds respectively to cross a telegraph post. If the length of each train is 120 m, in what time will they cross each other traveling in the opposite direction?

Speed of the first train = $$\frac{120}{10}$$ = 12 m/s

Speed of the second train = $$\frac{120}{15}$$ = 8 m/s

Relative speed = (12 + 8) = 20m/s

So, required time = $$\frac{(120+120)}{20}$$ = 12 sec
