Question 18

A and B invest some amount in the ratio 3 : 5 in a business. After 6 months, C joins them with an investment equal to that of B. In what ratio should the yearly profit be shared among A, B and C?

Solution

Ratio of investment of A and B is 3:5

A and B invests for 12 months whereas C invests for 6 months

Given investment of C is equal to that of B

Profit = investment * time

P = I * T

Ratio of their profit will be= A    :   B     :   C

                                         3*12 : 5*12   : 5*6

                                            6   :    10   :  5

so the ratio in which the profit would be shared among A,B and C is 6:10:5
