A boy has a total of Rs.60 which is a sum of one rupee, 50 paise and 25 paise coins in the ratio of 5: 6: 8. Find the number of 25 paise coins.

Solution

Let say, total number of 1 rupee , 50 paise and 25 paise coins are 5k,6k and 8k respectively.

So, total amount is =5k×1+6k×0.5+8k×0.25

=5k+3k+2k=10k.

So, 10k=60.

or, k=6.

So, Total number of 25 paise coins are =6×8=48.

D is correct choice.
