1. General Intelligence & Reasoning:

Reasoning puts your problem-solving, decision-making, and critical reasoning skills to the test. This isn’t a talent that can be learned in a day or two. Mastering the Reasoning portion will take time, and the only way to do that is by continuous and rigorous practice. Practice a wide range of questions from various subjects.

The majority of this section is made up of puzzles and seating arrangements. Read the puzzle carefully and don’t make any assumptions about stuff that isn’t listed. The key trick to solving puzzles faster is to practise as soon as possible. Often begin by attempting to solve the puzzles. Make sure you don’t waste too much time on a single question while completing the logic segment.

  • Every day, try and answer at least 40-50 Reasoning questions. Take many practise selectional tests and aim to answer at least 20 questions correctly in 15-20 minutes.

2. English Language:

Vocabulary, Grammar, and Text Comprehension are the three skill sets you would learn for the English Language.

In your preparation, If you come across a new word, look it up right away in the dictionary to expand your vocabulary. Look up the definition of the term as well as synonyms and antonyms. To increase your vocabulary, use these words in your everyday conversations.

High School Grammar will help you brush up on your simple English grammar. To improve your reading comprehension, develop a reading habit. Novels, books, and magazines are also good sources of information. Avoid subvocalization by reading quickly and clubbing two-three words at a time.

  • Every day, take English Language quizzes. Per day, do at least two Reading Comprehension passages and answer 30 Grammar questions.

3. Quantitative Aptitude:

During scheduling, Quant needs to be allowed more time than the other sections. Quantitative Aptitude evaluates the number sense and desire to use numbers correctly. The Quant segment would have questions similar to those seen in high school but are a little more complicated.

Start by brushing up on your fundamentals with class 8th to 10th. Tables 1 to 25 can be memorized, and cube and square roots, formulas, and shortcuts. Keep a practise mocks and sectionals and maintain a notebook where you can write down all of the relevant formulas and shortcut methods you study to review them later.

  • Advanced Quant subjects such as Geometry, Trigonometry, Algebra, and Mensuration will be covered. Give at least 2-3 hours of daily planning time for the Quant portion.

4. General Awareness:

This General Awareness segment takes less time and can be completed quickly and accurately. Since this portion does not require any measurements, you have fewer chances of getting a negative marking. To stay current, read newspapers every day and subscribe to magazines. For Static GK, take online Regular GK Quizzes and consult GK capsules. Every day, I attempt at least 70 GK questions and answer them in under 30 minutes. Most questions in General Awareness are focused on the Static GK and Science pages, so pay particular attention to them.

  • Candidates should review SSC General awareness for the studying of General Knowledge, which includes concept-by-concept descriptions and explanations of the topics discussed in the SSC test.

Time Management

It’s a smart idea to do the following before entering the exam hall:

1. Plan out the order in which you can complete the sections and

2. The amount of time you can devote to each section.

Taking SSC CGL Mock Tests is the easiest way to work this out. Take mock tests in various order; start with different parts in each mock test before finding the order that works best for you. Spend more time on the strongest parts to increase your ranking. If you get stuck on a question, you can still mark it for analysis and answer it later.

Use the time you saved in the English and General Awareness parts to do calculations in Quant. Practice doing mental calculations to reduce time and answer as many questions as possible in the shortest amount of time.

Every day, at least 6 hours of training will be needed for the SSC CGL 2020 Exam. Give at least 3-4 hours for the Quant section and two hours for the other sections. Attempt to complete the English and General Awareness sections in 10 minutes and the Quant and Reasoning sections in 20-25 minutes during the test. However, use this as a checklist to develop your time management approach depending on your strengths.
