Answer the following questions based on the alphabet given below :

Question 1: If the alphabets are written in reverse order after interchanging alphabets from ‘D to L’ with those from ‘R to Z’ respectively, which letter would be midway between W and E in the new order ?

Alphabets : A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z

After interchanging alphabets from ‘D to L’ with those from ‘R to Z’ respectively, then :

= A B C R S T U V W X Y Z M N O P Q D E F G H I J K L

Letter which is midway between W and E = N

=> Ans – (B)

Question 2: What will come in the place of question (?) mark in the following series ?
GPW, GPUW, GIPUW, GIPSUW, ?

Solution:

Series : GPW, GPUW, GIPUW, GIPSUW, ?

We are adding one letter from the back series, and similarly, adding one letter from the front side. 

Eg :- In 2nd term, U is added at the second last position and in the next term after that I is added at 2nd position from front. Thus, in the missing term, a new letter is added at 3rd position from front.

Thus, missing term = GIKPSUW

=> Ans – (C)

Question 3: If the letters of the word PRODUCTIVE which are at the odd numbered position in the English alphabet are picked up and rearranged in alphabetical order from left and if they are now substituted by Z, Y, X and so on, beginning from left which letter will get substituted by W ?

Word – PRODUCTIVE

Letters at odd numbered position in English alphabet = O,U,C,I,E

Arranging letters in alphabetical order = CEIOU

Substituting the letters, we get : ZYXWV

Thus, O will get substituted by W.

Question 4: In the following set of numbers if ‘1’ is added to the last digit of and then the order of digits is reversed ,which of the following will be the fourth if arranged in the ascending order 567 284 696 865 738

Numbers : 567 284 696 865 738

If ‘1’ is added to the last digit, then numbers : 568 , 285 , 697 , 866 , 739

Thus, 4th from left = $865\equiv567$

The pattern followed in each letter of the terms is :

Question 9: The sum of the squares of two odd numbers is 11570. The square of the smaller number is 5329. What is the other number?

Solution:

let the two numbers be a and b , where b is the smaller number

$(a)^2$ + $(b)^2$ = 11570

$(a)^2$ + 5329 = 11570

$(a)^2$ = 6241 = 79 x 79

a = 79

Hence option D is correct

Question 10: If the digits in the number 79246358 are arranged in descending order from left to right, what will be the difference between the digits which are third from the right and second from the left in the new arrangement?

If the digits are arranged in descending order from left to right, new number = 98765432

Difference between the digits which are third from the right and second from the left = $8-4=4$
