Number Series Tricks For IBPS PO Examination | How To Solve Number Series
Questions on number series are common in most of the competitive Exams. General these questions are based on numerical sequences that follow some logical rules based on arithmetic concepts.
One specific series is given based on that analyse the pattern of the series. Then find the next number in sequence based on the same rule.
Generally, there are 3 types of questions asked from the number series:
- A number series is given in which a number is wrongly placed. You find the wrong number
Eg:) 216 163 120 72 24
a)216 b)163 c)72 d)24
Logic: 24*1=24
24*3=72
24*5=120

Eg:) 9 11 13 15 17
2 4 6 8 ?
Answer:) 10
Logic : 9*1+2=11
11*1+2=13
13*1+2=15

a) 85 b)89 c)92 d) 81
Logic: difference between the two numbers is perfect square. this is the example of missing number series
6-2=4=2*2
15-6=9=3*3
31-15=4*4
Answer 😉 option (c)
- ) Series consist of cube addition and subtraction
179, 180, 172, 199, 135 (?)
- a) 236 b) 272 c) 240 d) 256 e) 260
Logic: 180-179= +(1*1*1)
180-172= -(2*2*2)
199-172= +(3*3*3)
Answer:) Option (e)
3.) Series consist of Perfect cube
1 9 36 100 (?)
a) 265 b)250 c)245 d)225
Logic: 9-1=(2*2*2)
36-9=(3*3*3)
100-36=(4*4*4)
225=(225-100)=125=(5*5*5)
