IIM Kozhikode PGP Admission Criteria 2023 (Key Changes): CAT 2022 Cut Off, Eligibility Criteria & Selection weightages

IIM Kozhikode Admission Criteria for the PGP batch of 2023-25 has been released, with some key changes in the selection criteria. IIM Kozhikode has reintroduced the WAT (Written Ability Test) with a weightage of 20% in the final stage of the selection process, and also, the weightage for the CAT score and the Personal Interview had been decreased. Admission criteria of IIM Kozhikode 2023

IIM Kozhikode is one of the desirable colleges for many MBA aspirants, but the selection procedure of IIM Kozhikode is a little complex. The following are the selection criteria for admission into IIMK.

Stage 1: Minimum Eligibility Criteria

All candidates who have opted for IIM Kozhikode and are fulfilling the below-mentioned minimum eligibility criteria are eligible to register for the IIM Kozhikode PGP programme and will receive an email for online registration for admissions to IIM Kozhikode. Only those candidates who have successfully completed the online registration process for IIM Kozhikode will be considered for Stage 2. Please note that this is a pre-interview registration process and not the call for the interview.

*The percentage of marks obtained in Class X and Class XII would be calculated based on the aggregate marks of all subjects that appear in the marks sheet or grade sheet, irrespective of whether the Board considers them for calculation of percentage.

Stage 2: Shortlisting for Personal Interview (PI)

The Stage 2 process applies to all eligible candidates who have successfully completed the registration process in Stage 1 for admissions to IIMK and is for the candidates’ determination to be called for a personal interview (PI). A shortlist of candidates in each category will be prepared based on an Aggregate Index Score (AIS). The AIS is computed based on the performance in CAT 2022, Class X, Class XII, gender/academic diversity criterion, and work experience.

* The number of candidates shortlisted would be at the discretion of IIMK and would depend on the batch size planned for 2023-25.

Work Experience Score: Previous work/professional experience will carry a weight of up to 5%, depending on the length of service as on December 31, 2022. Only full-time remunerative work experience after graduation will be considered. Part-time/Project/Internship/Articleship/Pre-Graduation work experience will not be counted as work experience. A candidate with a work experience of 6 months or above will be eligible for a work experience score.

Stage 3: Final Shortlist

The short-listed candidates will have to appear for a Written Ability Test(WAT) followed by a Personal Interview(PI). IIM Kozhikode will conduct the WAT and PI in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Mumbai and New Delhi. The entire process will last for a half-day (morning or afternoon). In this process, the candidates will be writing an essay, which will be followed by the PI.

During the PI process, the panel will evaluate the academics, general awareness, attitude, personality and communication and the quality of work experience of each candidate. The resume score will be calculated based on the quality of academic and professional qualifications.

After the WAT and PI process concludes, the final scores will be computed based on the performance in CAT 2022, PI, WAT, and resume scores. The final selection weights are shown below for each of the components.

Category-wise merit list will be prepared based on the final scores. Admission offers will be made to candidates following the merit list as per the Government of India reservation norms.
