Answers & Solutions:

1) Answer (A)

(A) : 12 A 6 B 3 C 4 D 3 = 14

$\equiv12+6-3\times4\div3=14$

L.H.S. = $12+6-(\frac{3\times4}{3})$

= $18-4=14=$ R.H.S.

=> Ans – (A)

2) Answer (D)

Consecutive odd numbers are added.

B (+5) = G (+7) = N (+9) = W (+11) = H

=> Ans – (D)

3) Answer (D)

Expression = 36 : 27 :: 196 : ?

The pattern followed is = $(n)^2:(\frac{n}{2})^3$

Eg :- $(6)^2:(\frac{6}{2})^3=36:27$

Similarly, $(14)^2=196$

=> $(\frac{14}{2})^3=(7)^3=343$

=> Ans – (D)

4) Answer (A)

(A) : Q (+1) = R (+2) = T (+5) = Y

(B) : B (+1) = C (+2) = E (+6) = K

(C) : F (+1) = G (+2) = I (+6) = O

(D) : T (+1) = U (+2) = W (+6) = C

=> Ans – (A)

5) Answer (C)

6) Answer (D)

L+1 = M
B+1 = C → MC
Next term:
M+2 = O
C+2 = E → OE
Next term:
O+3 = R
E+3 = H → RH
Similarly, Next term will be
R+4 = V
H+4 = L → VL

7) Answer (C)

Jug, Dupe, Quick, dazzle, ?
All the words have 3, 4, 5, 6 letters respectively.
Thus, the next term will be a 7 letter word i.e. puzzler.

8) Answer (D)

Italy, Situation,Spirit, Stride, Statistical,?
The position of the letter ‘i’ in each term is shifted one place to the right.
Eg : Italy (1st place) , Situation (2nd place) , Spirit (3rd place) , Stride(4th place), Statistical (5th place)
Thus, in the next term, ‘i’ will be at 6th position, and among the options, next word = Pristine.

9) Answer (B)

In the 1st term only A is present and in the next term 1 A and C is added and in the 3rd term 1 c and E is added and in the 4th term 1 E and G should be added and so the required answer is AACCEEG

10) Answer (A)

Expression = Wheat : Grain : : ? : ?

The first comes under the category of second, wheat is type of grain, similarly rose is a flower.

=> Ans – (A)

11) Answer (C)

Series : COT, DQU, ESV, FUW, ?

The pattern followed in each letter of the terms is :

1st letter : C (+1 letter) = D (+1 letter) = E (+1 letter) = F (+1 letter) = G

2nd letter : O (+2 letters) = Q (+2 letters) = S (+2 letters) = U (+2 letters) = W

3rd letter : T (+1 letter) = U (+1 letter) = V (+1 letter) = W (+1 letter) = X

Thus, missing term = GWX

=> Ans – (C)

12) Answer (D)

National game of India is Hockey and similarly for New Zealand it is Rugby.

13) Answer (B)

Promising : Pessimistic

Promising and Pessimistic are antonyms, thus the word with opposite in meaning as Ease is Aggravate.

14) Answer (D)

In this question each number is multiplied by its next number.
2*3=6
3*4=12
4*5=20
5*6=30
6*7=42
7*8=56
8*9=72

15) Answer (B)

Expression : 16 ÷ 4 x 8 – 10 + 14 = 12

(A) : x and –

L.H.S. = $16\div4-8\times10+14$

= $4-80+14=-62\neq$ R.H.S.

(B) : ÷ and x

L.H.S. = $16\times4\div8-10+14$

= $(2\times4)+4=12=$ R.H.S.

=> Ans – (B)
