RBI conducts the exam in 3 tiers.
1. Preliminary exam.

- Prelims exam:
Prelims exam is similar to other major banking exams. There are 100 questions. The time duration is 1 hour. The split up is similar to IBPS PO prelims examination. This exam is of qualifying nature. A candidate’s score in the prelims examination does not affect his chances of final selection.
Prelims exam has both sectional as well as overall cut off.
The overall cut off often shoots past 70. Hence, aspirants must try to score above 80 to be on the safer side.
2. Mains exam:
The mains exam consists of 5 sections.
