The information about the revenue of five companies A, B, C, D and E is represented using a pie chart. It shows the distribution of revenue of companies in 2018. It is found that the percentage increase of revenue from 2017 for five companies are same as the percentages shown in pie chart but not in same order. However, no company has same percentages in both revenue share and the increment. For example, if revenue percentage of a company is 25, then percentage increase from 2017 to 2018 cannot be 25.

It has been given that:
1. The revenues of B and D in 2017 has integral values if expressed in million dollars.
2. The percentage increment of revenue distribution of C is more than that of B.
3. The percentages of revenue share of A, C and E in 2018 form an increasing arithmetic progression.
4. The total revenue of companies is 100 million USD in 2018.

5. The revenue of A is not the least among them for year 2018.

d) $53\dfrac{11}{23}$ percent

The percentage revenue distribution of all the companies is 10,30,15,20 and 25 in the year 2018.

Since the total revenue is 100 millions, the revenue will be 10,30,15,20 and 25 millions respectively.

Also the increment from 2017 is also 10,30,15,20 and 25 not in the same order.

The companies cannot have same percentages in both cases.

Hence, for company with 10 million dollar revenue in 2018, possible percentage increase = 30,15,20,25

Possible values of revenue in 2017 = 10*(100/130)=10/1.3,10*(100/115)=10/1.15,10*(100/120)=10/1.2,10*(100/125)=10/1.25

Similarly, we can calculate for rest of the companies, the cases when the revenue in 2017 will have integral values if expressed in millions will be 10/1.25, 20/1.25, 30/1.25,15/1.25, 30/1.2

Since two companies cannot have same percentages,  30/1.2 should definitely be a revenue in 2017. Other revenues may be from one of the 10/1.25, 20/1.25, 30/1.25,15/1.25………(a)

From (3), the revenues of A,C and E are increasing AP, the three possibilities are (10, 15,20),(10,20,30) and (15,20,25).

From (5), the only possibility: the revenue of A,C and E is 15,20 and 25.

So 10 million will be the revenue of either B or D. Revenue of B and D = (10,30) or (30,10)

Revenue of B and D in 2017 = (10/1.25,30/1.2) or (30/1.2,10/1.25)

From (2), the percentage of increment of C is more than B. The percentage of increment of B and D can be either 20 or 25. Hence, the percentage of increment of C should be 30.

The percentage of increment for A will be 10 and for E it will be 15.

The revenue of C in 2017= 20/1.3 = 15.38 million dollars

The percentage revenue distribution of all the companies is 10,30,15,20 and 25 in the year 2018.

Since the total revenue is 100 millions, the revenue will be 10,30,15,20 and 25 millions respectively.

From the table, maximum revenue of B  = 30/1.2 = 25

The percentage revenue distribution of all the companies is 10,30,15,20 and 25 in the year 2018.

Since the total revenue is 100 millions, the revenue will be 10,30,15,20 and 25 millions respectively.

The percentage of increment for A will be 10 and for E it will be 15.

From table, the percentage of increment for A will be 10.

Revenue of A,B,C,D,E in 2017 in the same order

Case(1): 15/1.1=13.63,     30/1.2=25,        20/1.3=15.38,        10/1.25=8,         25/1.15=21.74

Case(2): 15/1.1=13.63,     10/1.25=8,        20/1.3=15.38,         30/1.2=25,          25/1.15=21.74

In any case the rank of C is 3rd. Hence B is the answer.

Total number of diplomats from Russia = $\dfrac{63}{360}\times 600$ = 105.

Total number of diplomats from France = $\dfrac{27}{360}\times 600$ = 45.

We have to find out the maximum number of male diplomats from either Russia or France. It is given that there were at least one female participants from each of the nation.

Hence, the maximum number of male diplomats from either Russia or France = 105 – 1 + 45 – 1 = 148. Therefore, option B is the correct answer.

The number of participants from USA alone = $\dfrac{72}{360}\times 800$ = 160

The number of participants from France alone = $\dfrac{27}{360}\times 800$ = 60

Hence, the required difference = 160 – 60 = 100. Hence, option C is the correct answer.

We are given that at least one female was present from all of the participation nations. Therefore, the maximum number of male diplomats = 600 – 8 = 592.

The minimum number of male diplomats will be in the case when just one male participated from each of the participating  nation. Therefore, the minimum number of male diplomats = 8.

Therefore, the difference between the maximum number of male diplomats to the minimum number of male diplomats present in the conference = 592 – 8 = 584.

Hence, option D is the correct answer.

Minimum number of female diplomats present in the conference = 8

Therefore, the number of maximum male diplomats present in the conference = 40 – 8 = 32

Hence, the ratio of  the ratio of number of female diplomats to male diplomats who participated in the conference can’t be worse than 8 : 32 or 1 : 4.

Therefore, we can say that option B is the correct answer.

Let ‘100x’ and ‘100y’ be the total number of runs scored by MSD in IPL 2017 an IPL 2018 respectively.

Therefore, the number of runs scored by MSD against DD in year 2017 = 0.24*100x = 24x.

The number of runs scored by MSD against DD in year 2018 = 0.20*100y = 20y.

Hence, we can say that 20y = 24x or y = 1.2x. Therefore, we can represent number of runs scored against each opponent in both IPLs in terms of x.

The number of runs scored by MSD against RCB in IPL 2017 = 12x and it is also given that the ratio of the number of runs scored by MSD against RCB in the year 2017 and 2018 is 2: 1. Therefore, the number of runs by MSD against RCB in IPL 2018 = 6x. That’s 5 percent of total number of runs scored by MSD in IPL 2018.

We still don’t know the percentage of runs scored by MSD against KKR and KXIP in the IPL 2018.

Let ‘a’ be the percentage of runs scored by MSD against KKR in IPL 2018. Then the number of runs scored by MSD against KKR = 1.2x*a = (6a/5)x. Now we can fill the remaining table.

From the table, we can see that we can’t determined the runs scored against KKR as a percentage of the total runs scored in IPL 2018. Hence, option D is the correct answer.

From the table, the sum of the runs scored against KKR and KXIP as a percentage of the total runs scored is = 39 – a + a = 39%. Hence, option C is the correct answer.

From the table we can see that MSD scored 26.4x and 16.8x runs against SRH and MI in IPL 2018. Hence, we can say that ‘x’ is a multiple of 5. The total number of runs cored by MSD in IPL 2018 will be minimum when x = 5.

Therefore, total number of runs scored by MSD against KXIP in IPL 2018 = 234 – 6a.

Similarly, we can calculate the number of runs scored by MSD against KXIP in IPL 2017 = 13*5 = 65.

Hence, the difference in number of runs scored by MSD against KXIP in both the IPLs = |(234-6a) – 65| = 169 – 6a.

The difference will be maximum if a = 0. Therefore, the maximum difference = 169. Hence, option D is the correct answer.

It is given that the difference in number of runs scored by MSD against KKR in both the IPLs is zero.

Hence, 18x = (6a/5)x

$\Rightarrow$ a = 15.

The number of runs scored by MSD against SRH, KXIP and MI combined in the IPL 2018 = 26.4x + 28.8x + 16.8x = 72x

The number of runs scored by MSD against SRH, KXIP and MI combined in the IPL 2017 = 17x + 13x + 16x = 46x

Hence, the required percentage = $\dfrac{72x – 46x}{46x}\times 100$ = 56$\dfrac{12}{23}$ percent. Hence, option A is the correct answer.
