How to Prepare for CMAT 2022 (week-wise study plan)

Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a National Level Entrance Examination for admission to Management Programs in the country. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the CMAT-2022 exam. CMAT is an MCQ-based online test. The exam is a gateway to more than 1000 MBA colleges in India. The CMAT score is accepted by all the AICTE- Approved Institutions / University Departments / Constituent Colleges /Affiliated Colleges.  In this article, we will be looking at how to prepare for the CMAT 2022 Exam. 

The CMAT 2022 Examination is going to be held on 9th April 2022, so we have around 25days to prepare it is very little time if you are not prepared well for the Examination. But don’t worry we will provide you with an excellent week-wise study plan to prepare for the CMAT 2022 Examination.

Before going to the study plan, let us have a look at the latest exam pattern of the CMAT 2022 in detail.

The Examination is going to be held on 9th April 2022, in only one shift i.e from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. 

Week-wise Study Plan

If you have a perfect study plan for your preparation, you can easily crack the exam within a short period, as we have around 25 days to prepare for CMAT 2022. We will provide you with an excellent preparation strategy that help you to crack this exam.

Try to spend at least 1 to 2 hours for preparation to achieve this exam.

Week 1

We recommend the aspirants, understand the exam pattern and pick out the weak areas in all the sections.

1. Quantitative Ability (QA) and Data Interpretation (DI) section: Focus on all the basic fundamentals of weak areas in this section. Try to complete all the basic fundamentals in the first week as early as possible and make sure that you cover all the weak areas and revise them until you have a grasp on them. For the Data Interpretation (DI) part of this section, the key thing tested is the ability to interpret the data which is presented in tables and charts. The DI Topics include simple caselets, tables, charts, etc. The trick here is to represent the data in an organized manner, which saves time during the calculation. 2. Logical Reasoning Section: This is a scoring section of the exam. The main objective of this section is to test the aspirant’s logical thinking ability. So allocate at least 1 hour for practicing the problems from this section.

3. Language Comprehensions Section: Here is the only trick is to crack this section is to improve your reading ability and improving your grammar ability here are the topics in this section include

  • Reading Comprehension
  • Antonyms and synonyms (Vocabulary questions)
  • Sentence Completion
  • Para Jumble
  • Rearranging sentences
  • One-word Substitutions
  • Phrases or Idioms
  • Grammatical errors correction

4. General Awareness Section, Here the topics are wide-ranging and they include, Static GK and Current GK. Topics like – Recent government schemes, International affairs, History, Geography, Sports, Politics, Awards, Books & Authors, Arts & Culture, etc – are tested. Spend at least 1 hour for this section by reading the newspaper, browsing, and watching the news channels to gain your knowledge on the general awareness section.

5. Innovation & Entrepreneurship Section: The purpose of introducing this section in the exam is to encourage those students who wish to be Entrepreneurs after pursuing their management degree. Someone aspiring to be an Entrepreneur will also be interested in this section. You can crack this section by referring to some important terms of innovation and Entrepreneurship. 

This is the preparation plan for the first week of your study plan. Just concentrate on the basic fundamentals and weak areas in every section. You can also take one mock and analyze, this week which helps you to check out how far you prepared.

Week 2

We recommend the candidates start practicing the topics that feel hard for you and also remember that to not spend more than enough time on a single topic. Practice the problems in quant and find out the tricks and shortcuts to solve the problems that save your valuable time. 

Improve your speed of calculation and solve the problems. Customize your study plan as per your comfort, if you are a working professional, you must need a pre-planned preparation strategy for spending on learning and practice. If you are not a working professional and preparing at home, you can allocate as much time for preparation. 

Apply the same strategy for all the sections this week. You have to spend as much time practicing this week. You can also take 1 to 2 mocks this week and analyze them.

For the section on Language Comprehension, Try to solve daily one Reading comprehension that improves your reading ability, and also improves your speed in solving the RCs in the examination.

Week 3

Mocks: We recommend the aspirants solve 2-3 mocks this week. Balance your speed and accuracy while solving the mocks. These are the terms that are to be balanced while you are attempting the examination. It is essential to have good accuracy, as there’s no point in attempting more questions but inaccurately. Accuracy can be improved with practice, taking mocks and analyzing and improving on your weak areas, and avoiding your mistakes. Try to increase your speed and accuracy with every mock test. Final Week

And finally, the day before the exam we recommend to not get panic about the exam and try to spend your day with the work that makes you happy, like watching a movie, spending some time with your family, going for a pleasant walk, etc., try to make yourself comfortable.

Some Additional Tips For The CMAT Preparation:

  • While covering the fundamentals, avoid spending too much time on a particular topic. Learn the topic, solve a few questions and move on to the next topic.
  • Mock Tests: These tests will help the candidate familiarize themselves with their weaknesses as well as strong points. Once the basics of every topic are covered, start giving 2-3 mocks per week and analyze them thoroughly.
  • Focus on time management during the mocks and also on building your strategy during the exam.
  • Revise regularly: Candidates must allot at least one day during the week for revision of the concepts learned during the week. Maintain proper notes, which include important formulae, basic concepts, fast solving tricks, and your mistakes.
  • Take Breaks: The candidates are advised to take enough breaks during the preparation, rather than getting overly stressed by studying for too many hours.
  • Make it a habit to read the newspapers and magazines regularly, as this will help to improve vocabulary and also the general awareness concepts.
