Following are the conditions for selecting Accounts Officer in the Organization
The candidate must
(i)be at least 21 yr and not more than 26 yr as on 1.11.2011
(ii)be a commerce graduate (B.com) with atleast 55% marks
(iii)have work experience of at least 2 yr in the Accounts Department of an organization
(iv)have secured at least 50% marks in the Selection process In the case of a candidate who fulfils all the conditions except
(a)at (i)above but at least 21 yr old and not more than 28 yr old and has work experience of 5 yr as Accounts Assistant in an organization his/her case is to be referred to GM-Accounts
(b)at (ii)above but has secured at least 50% marks graduation and has secured at least 55% marks in selection process his/her case is to be referred VP-Accounts.

Instructions

Read the following information carefully and answer the questions given below :

Following are the criteria for hiring Marketing Manager in a company
The applicant must—–
(i) be a post graduate in Marketing Management
(ii) be at least 25 years old as on 30.4.2001.
(iii) have work experience of at least three years
(iv) be ready to work for at least two years after appointed.

However, if a candidate—
(a) fulfils all other criteria except at (i) above, but has work experience of more than five years– the case is to be referred to General Manager-Marketing.
(b) fulfils all other criteria except at (iv) above, but has obtained Ph.D. Degree, the case may be referred to Vice President-Marketing.

Based on the above criteria and the information given in each case, you have to take the decision in each case. You are not assume anything. The cases are given to you as on 30.4.2001.

Question 6: Janaki Sharma has obtained her post graduation and Ph. D in Marketing Management. She is working for the last three years and is ready to work for one more year. She was born on 2nd October, 1973 ?

The candidate fulfils all the four conditions. ie

(i)be at least 21 yr and not more than 26 yr as on 1.11.2011
(ii)be a commerce graduate (B.com) with atleast 55% marks
(iii)have work experience of at least 2 yr in the Accounts Department of an organization
(iv)have secured at least 50% marks in the Selection process

Hence, he should be selected.

Pratibha has a very low score in the selection process. The minimum required score is 50%, whereas she scored only 49%. So, she will not be selected.

Arun scored 55% in graduation but there is no mention about his major in Graduation. He will be selected only if he majored in Commerce. Since that information is not available, the data provided is inadequate to take a decision.

Since Prabha is between 26 and 28 years old and has 5 years work experience as an accounts assistant, she qualifies to be considered by GM Accounts for review.

Since Amul has between 50 and 55% in graduation and more than 55% in the selection process, his profile can be considered by VP Accounts for review.
