Answers & Solutions:
1) Answer (B)
Word –Â NURSING
There are 3 pairs of letters which have as many as letters between them in the Alphabet.
= (U,S) , (R,S) , (I,G)
=> Ans – (B)
2) Answer (E)
The first three letters of the word are reversed. Thus PENCIL becomes NEPCIL.
Now add 4 to odd-positioned letter and subtract 2 from even-positioned ones.
Similarly, BROKEN becomes ORBKEN, then :
=> Ans – (E)
3) Answer (B)
Series :Â DGK GKP ? PVC
The pattern followed in each letter of the terms is :
1st letter : D (+3 letters) = GÂ (+4 letters) =Â KÂ (+5 letters) =Â P
2nd letter : GÂ (+4 letters) =Â KÂ (+5 letters) =Â PÂ (+6 letters) =Â V
3rd letter : K (+5 letters) = P (+6 letters) = V (+7 letters) = C
Thus, missing term =Â KPV
=> Ans – (B)
4) Answer (C)
4th to the left of 13th from right.
= (13 + 4) = 17th from right = 10th from left = J
Now, in the changed sequence, GHIJKL becomes LKJIHG. Thus I takes the place of J.
=> Ans – (C)
5) Answer (C)
3rd letter to the right of 18th letter from left.
= (18 + 3) = 21st letter from left = U
In the changed sequence, TUVWXYZ changes to ABCDEFG, hence B comes in place of U.
=> Ans – (C)
6) Answer (D)
Series : B U B D C E D B D E U B A D C B E A C D A E B A U A C D B C A C
20th from left end = D
8th to the left of ‘D’ = B
=> Ans – (D)
7) Answer (B)
Series : B U B D C E D B D E U B A D C B E A C D A E B A U A C D B C A C
1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th from left end = B,U,C,E
Only 1 meaningful word can be formed = Cube
=> Ans – (B)
8) Answer (E)
Consonants which are immediately preceded by a vowel and also immediately followed by a consonant
Thus, we need to find : (vowel) , (consonant) , (consonant)
=Â B U B D C E D B D E U B A D C B E A C D A E B A U A C D B C A C
Thus, there are 5 such consonants.
=> Ans – (E)
9) Answer (A)
Series : B U B D C E D B D E U B A D C B E A C D A E B A U A C D B C A C
If all A’s are dropped, the new series :
= B U B D C E D B D E U B D C B E C D E B U C D B C C
11th from right end = ‘E’
=> Ans – (A)
10) Answer (C)
C U A B D B C E ‘D’ E ‘D’ U A ‘B’ U A C D E ‘D’ A D B C A B C E ‘B’ A B
As shown in the above series, the consonants within ‘ ‘ are the ones that are preceded by a vowel and succeeded by a vowel. There are 5 such instances in total. Hence, option C is the right answer.

Thus, only 1 meaningful word can be formed.
12) Answer (B)
We need to find a vowel which is immediately followed by another vowel.
=> (vowel) (vowel)
There are 3 such vowels, each of which are ‘UA’
13) Answer (E)
18th alphabet from the right end = B [UA B UA]
7th to the right of B = A
Thus, Ans- (E)
14) Answer (B)
We need to find the number of D’s immediately preceded by a consonant and immediately followed by a vowel.
