Answers & Solutions:

1) Answer (D)

The quantifier “many” cannot modify a number. The correct quantifier to be used is “most”.

2) Answer (B)

This is an unreal past condition. So, the verb used must be in the form of past participle.

The correct phrase to be used is “you would have definitely”.

3) Answer (D)

The verb “invite” does not agree with the singular noun “choice”. Hence, the correct usage of the verb is “invites”.

4) Answer (A)

The word “direction” is the key in this sentence.

“Ideology” relates best to the key word “direction”.

Hence, option A is the answer.

5) Answer (A)

For parallelism to exist, the phrase must start with “whose” because the following phrase starts with “whose”.

Bodies and spirit are more related than hopelessness and spirit.

Hence, option A is the answer.

6) Answer (C)

Option D is wrong as it says “sensibility is in me” and the second phrase says “rushing towards me” => Contradiction

A monster is unrelated in the given context => Option A is wrong.

“World is rushing towards me” does not make sense => Option B is wrong.

Hence, option C is the answer.

7) Answer (A)

The things which we want to accomplish are set out. So the correct usage is “I am always the first to admit that I have not accomplished anything that I set out to achieve five years ago.”

8) Answer (A)

“Break Down” is the correct usage as break down means to remove something.

9) Answer (B)

This sentence tells the outer limits of sociological analysis can penetrate. The correct option is B. Option C and Option D are grammatically incorrect. “About” and “just” cannot be written simultaneously. Option A is incorrect as it does not make any sense. The best alternative is Option B.

10) Answer (B)

Let us analyze what the author intends to convey through the given sentence.

‘Although these injuries are not fatal,……’.
The author acknowledges that the injuries are not fatal. By using the word ‘although’, the author conveys that he expects something to be done but that is not the case. The part that completes the sentence should capture this point.

Option A:

‘they are not ranked among top causes of death’. Had the option been ‘they are ranked …’, we could have used this option to fill the blank. The given option cannot be used since it contradicts the term ‘although’ used in the first part of the sentence.

Option D:

‘they do not get reported’. There is nothing peculiar about minor injuries going unreported. This option will also make the usage of although in the first part of the sentence incorrect and hence, option D can be eliminated as well.

Option C:

‘there is no proof of the same’. This statement can be used to fill the blank. Let us check the other option and choose the most appropriate one between the two.

Option B:

‘they are certainly incapacitating and tragic’. This option aptly concludes by continuing the chain of thought. Though the injuries are not life threatening, they are certainly crippling. Therefore, option B is deemed better than option C and hence, option C is the right answer.
