d) Rs.64,000/-

e) Rs.72,000/-

Answers & Solutions:

1) Answer (B)

Ruchika’s monthly income = Rs 32000
Ravina’s monthly income = 32000 x (1 + $\frac{15}{100}$) = 32000 x $\frac{115}{100}$ = Rs. 36800
Ramola’s monthly income = 3 x 36800 = 110400
Ramola’s annual income = 12 x 110400 = 1324800

2) Answer (D)

Total employees = 4800
45% of employees are males = $\frac{45}{100}$ x 4800 = 2160
60% of 2160 are equal to or older than 25
So 40% of 2160 are younger than 25 years = $\frac{40}{100}$ x 2160 = 864

3) Answer (A)

The maximum marks of each subjec is 105

80% of 105 = 84

Since there are 5 subjects

Average marks =$\frac{Sum\ of\ all\ the\ marks}{5} = 84$

Sum of all the marks = 84*5 = 420

89+92+98+81+Science = 420

360+Science = 420

Science = 420-360 = 60

4) Answer (B)

Now, let the mark scored by Vikram be x in Science.
Hence, $\frac{x+80+70+65+76}{5}$ = 72
x+291 = 360
x = 69
Vikram scored 69 marks in Science. Therefore, the correct option is option B.
5) Answer (C)

The ratio of ages of Rama and Shyama is 4: 5. Let their ages be 4x and 5x respectively. Five years later, their ages become 5x and 6x respectively. Hence, Their ages after 5 years = 4x + 5 and 5x + 5

But 4x + 5 : 5x + 5 = 5 : 6

So, 24x + 30 = 25x + 25

or x = 5

So, Rama’s current age = 4x = 4×5 =20

6) Answer (B)

Let the number be ‘n’.
According to question,
$\frac{5}{6}$n-35% of n = 1392.
$\frac{5}{6}n-\frac{35\times{n}}{100}=1392$.
$\frac{29\times{n}}{60}=1392$.
$n=2880$.
55 % of n = $\frac{55\times2880}{100}$.
=1584.
Hence, Option B is correct.

7) Answer (B)

REASONING

8) Answer (C)

Marks scored by Vidya = 350 + 296 = 646

Let the maximum marks be $x$

=> $\frac{76}{100} x = 646$

=> $x = \frac{646}{0.76} = 850$

9) Answer (B)

Surf gave 25% of her monthly salary to her mother.Remaining is 75%

15% of 75% was given for rent and 25% of 75% was kept for monthly expenses.
Remaining 60% of 75% was put in Bank account.
% of his monthly salary and 40% of remaining 65% of his monthly salary = 43290
Let his monthly salary be Rs.X
25% of X + 60% of 75% of X =42,000
0.25 X + 0.45 X =42,000
0.70 X = 42,000
X = 42,000 / 0.7 =60,000
Option B is the nearest answer.
