I Scored 90-95 Percentile in CAT this Year (General Category). What should I Do?

If Your CAT Score is 90-95 percentile
If Your CAT Score is 90-95 percentile

Suppose you got 90-95 percentile in CAT this year and want to pursue MBA in one of the best institutes in India other than top IIMs. It is advised to take other MBA entrance exams such as XAT, MAH CET, TISSNET, IIFT, NMAT and CMAT. Many top b-schools accept these MBA entrance tests for their admission process. The b-schools, including XLRI Jamshedpur, JBIMS Mumbai, TISS Mumbai, SPJIMR Mumbai, MDI Gurgaon, IIFT Delhi, NMIMS Mumbai, etc. XLRI Jamshedpur is one of the most popular institutes which accepts the XAT scores for MBA admissions.

Suppose you decided to join MBA with this percentile and not interested in taking other MBA entrance examinations. It is advised to join New or Baby IIMs. There is a high possibility of getting calls from these institutes with this percentile. You should check out the placements and other key details of the institutes you received calls from and make your decision.

And Finally, if you target only the old IIMs such as IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, IIM Kozhikode and IIM Indore. The respective percentile is not at all enough to get into those institutes. So you can retake the CAT exam and must target around the 99+ percentile to get into old IIMs.

I Scored 80-90 Percentile in CAT this Year (General Category). What should I Do?

If Your CAT Score is 80-90 percentile
If Your CAT Score is 80-90 percentile

You are keen on pursuing MBA this year. Your score is in the range of 80-90 percentile in CAT (Belongs to General and Non-Engineering Background). You might get calls from some of the popular New IIMs, such as IIM Trichy, IIM Ranchi, etc. You can join these institutes with this percentile. And finally, if you are ambitious about the old IIMs, it is better to retake the CAT exam.

If you are not so desirous of getting only to the IIMs, you can take the other MBA entrance exams such as XAT, MAH CET, TISSNET, IIFT, NMAT and CMAT. As mentioned before, there are many other non-IIM b-schools which provide you with the best management education.

I Scored 70-80 Percentile in CAT this Year (General Category). What should I Do?

If Your CAT Score is 70-80 percentile
If Your CAT Score is 70-80 percentile

If your CAT percentile is in this range, the chances of getting calls from all 20 IIMs are impossible. But your target is to get into only IIMs, and if you have enough time and patience. It is better to retake the CAT and try to target above the 99 percentile in the next attempt.

If you are impatient about retaking CAT and you are keen on pursuing MBA this year. It is advised to take other MBA entrance examinations such as XAT, MAH CET, TISSNET, IIFT, NMAT and CMAT.
