Solutions (1 to 5)
1) Answer (c)
From statement 1, we get Q> R, S and T>P. Hence, Q> R / S >= S / R > T > P. Hence, Q is the heaviest.
From statement 2, R is second heaviest and Q is heavier than R. Hence, Q is the heaviest.
Hence, the question can be answered using either statement alone.
2) Answer (b)
Data in statement II alone is sufficient to give us the idea that 5 friends are sitting around a circular table.
Data in statement I contains missing information regarding the position of E with respect to A or B. Hence, we cannot say with surety whether the A,B,C,D and E are facing the centre by sitting in circular manner or not.
Hence, option B Â is correct.
3) Answer (a)
Data in statement 1 is enough to give us idea about the order of the subjects taken serially on each day of the week.
The table formed is:
Hence, statement 1 is sufficient to help us form this table.
4) Answer (a)
Here, the data in statement 1 is sufficient to answer the question.
Half an hour ago, the hour hand will be between 8 and 9. After half, the hour hand will be at 9 while minute hand will be on 12.
Therefore, option A is correct.
5) Answer (d)
The data in statement 1 gives us the relation that B is grandfather of F.
But even data from both the statements is insufficient to give the gender of F.
F can be grandson or granddaughter of B.
Hence correct option is D.
